Description

This is the transcript of Dr. Holmes talk at the Beverly Theater on October 31, 1954.

Quote:  “Now no matter what the prayer is, how orthodox or different from ours, if that element of belief, identification and acceptance enters in, the prayer will be answered. In other words, if there is more affirmation in the prayer than there is negation it will be answered. If there is more conviction than unbelief, no matter what form it takes, a Christian Scientist, a Divine Scientist, a Religious Scientist or a Holly Roller. Now we, with our dignity, we like to think we are more dignified than a Holy Roller but I wouldn’t be surprised to see somebody rolling down the aisle some day screaming “Praise the Lord” who actually believed that if he said “Make me well” he would be well, he would be healed like that, just in a split second. I wouldn’t care what his religion was. And I wouldn’t care if it was somebody else who came in in a very dignified way and with complete conviction said “God is all there is, this is the Truth about the person,” he would get a healing or a help too..”
