Description

You and I are interested in this research in the laws of mind, and we believe that the life and teaching of Jesus was designed to reveal to us the all-conquering power of the Spirit as it operates through the human mind. We believe that the Bible is a book for the emancipation of man and that it teaches what the spiritual laws of our nature are and how to use them.

The Bible starts with the proposition that in the beginning there is God and nothing else. And then it tells us that God creates through His word or thought. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made.”

The next teaching of the Bible is that man is made in the spiritual likeness of God and is endowed with a creative mind which, rightly used can produce everything necessary to his comfort and well-being. And the Bible tells us what happens when we use its creative power wrongly and what might happen when it is used in harmony with the spiritual forces that are around us. And it tells us how to use these forces.

One of the most interesting stories in the Bible is about the temple of God, and it tells us that this temple is not made with hands but is eternal in the heavens. It also tells us that this temple is within us. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of the living God?” Let us inquire into the meaning of this.

You will remember that Solomon put two pillars in front of the temple – one called Jachin and the other Boaz. The temple was entered by passing between these two pillars; which represent law and love. The Bible says that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you . . . The temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. So we see that the two pillars which Solomon placed in front of the temple tell us that the spiritual laws of the universe, which govern everything, exist at the innermost part of our own being. We are that temple; the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silent before Him.
